So How Will Energy Microcredit Help Prevent Global Warming?
Before we get to energy microcredit let us explain what a microcredit is. Microcredit or microfinance, is a very small loan to someone who is considered "unbankable" and is to poor to be considered under the normal credit system. They may lack credit history, steady employment or live in poverty. It was fist introduced to provide work for the poor in third world countries. Since then it has been successful and continues to grow around the world.
Now you'd wonder how this applies to global warming? For example various companies have begun to offer microcredit by replacing gas lighting with solar panel lighting one village at a time. If a family spent $60 per year on kerosene they would pay $1 per week for the solar panels, which would last a decade. The money is then slowly returned to the supplier at an affordable rate and solar lighting replaces the gas power, saving energy.
You could see how this idea could be applied to help other aspects of global warming and other business opportunities for that matter. It's an excellent step to help reduce emissions and power usage. Well done!
