The Real Problem With Factories and Global Warming
Factories and Global Warming might as well be synonyms of each other. Many factories will put out more carbon emissions in a week than you will in a year. You'll know this if you've ever seen one up close. With their massive smoke stacks pumping out fumes into the air it really is an obvious problem.
A variety of countries taking part in the Kyoto Protocol limit the number of factories or carbon emitted into the air. The United States is notorious for not taking part in this and having no formal emission limits. However many are saying that international treaties are not the best way to deal with factory emissions, and that it must start from the bottom.
For example in Britain if you exceed the limitations you can purchase emissions credits supporting other factories with relatively low impact. Even in the United States private firms have instated their own regulation limits.
There will always be factories as we need them for many of the goods we purchase everyday. As long there's the demand for goods they will be there to supply us with them. The best we can do is try to regulate the number of factories and lower the environmental impact of those factories to a minimum.
